Terms of Service

These terms set the conditions for using Onggi (the "Service") from Studio Loong ("we"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to them.

These terms are also available in Korean; both say the same thing, and if they ever differ, the Korean version governs, except where the law of your country gives you a right that cannot be waived.

1. The Service

Onggi is an app for keeping the words, scenes, and passing feelings that moved you, on your own device. It is offered as installed apps for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.

  • Keeping, searching, sources, tags, drawers, Maru, import and export all work on the device, with no account.
  • Google sign-in, Google Drive sync, and the AI post office are optional.
  • The free Android app shows ads.

2. Accounts

Signing in is optional. An account is created from your Google account; don't sign in with an account that isn't yours. You can ask to delete your account at support.onggi@studioloong.com. What we process is in the Privacy Policy.

3. Your data

  • You own the pieces and notes you keep. We claim no rights to them.
  • Pieces are stored on your device, so losing the device or removing the app may lose them for good. Keep a copy with export or Drive sync. Export is always free.
  • Post office pieces are held only sealed, and only briefly (30 days at most), to deliver them; we cannot read them.

4. Things you shouldn't do

  • Break the law or infringe other people's rights.
  • Attack the Service or its servers, or disrupt how it runs.
  • Try to reach someone else's post office, or flood post offices to disrupt the Service.

If this happens, we may limit that account's online features (sign-in, post office). The data on your device stays yours.

5. Other services

Google sign-in and Drive, and AI services such as claude.ai, are governed by their providers' terms. What an AI sends to your post office is between you and that AI; we are not responsible for how other services behave.

6. Ads and promotions

The free Android app may show ads, and the installed apps may show promo cards in the feed. On devices set to Korean, a Coupang Partners product area may appear, and we earn a commission on purchases made through it.

8. Changes to the Service

We may change the Service or stop parts of it. If we stop an online feature (such as the post office), we will announce it on this site and in the app at least 30 days before. The data on your device stays there even if the Service stops, and you can export it at any time.

9. Limits of liability

The Service is provided as is. We work to keep it reliable, but unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence, we are not liable for data lost through a lost device, a full disk, or an outage of another service. Where the law says otherwise, the law applies.

10. Changes to these terms

We will post changes and their effective date on this page 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes that are less favorable to you). If you do not agree to the new terms, you can stop using the Service.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes go to the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. Nothing here takes away rights that the consumer protection laws of your country give you.
